Frequent handwashing is essential for hygiene, but it can strip away your skin’s natural oils, leaving hands dry, cracked, and sensitive—especially if you use harsh soaps or hot water. Dishwashing, and other cleaning activity also adds to this.

Handmade soaps from the Mediterranean, such as traditional olive oil–based castile soaps, are particularly beneficial because they’re crafted with high-quality, cold-pressed oils rich in antioxidants, vitamins, and natural moisturizers. These slow-cured, cold-process bars retain their glycerin—a natural humectant often removed in mass-produced soaps—helping skin stay hydrated.

Compared to many factory-made soaps elsewhere, Emunah Natural's Mediterranean handmade varieties use minimal processing, no synthetic detergents, and often centuries-old recipes that nourish rather than strip the skin. Pairing these with cooler water, immediate moisturization using shea butter or coconut oil, and overnight repair with a rich balm under cotton gloves can restore softness and keep hands healthy, naturally.

I sometimes have mild eczema flaring up on my palms should there be quite frequent handwashing, dishwashing or just cleaning up my home. So I turn towards Emunah Natural's natural soaps to help restore what cleaning chemicals has stripped away. The natural scents also provide a nice relaxing smell and a beautiful way to end the day as well.

Handwashing, dishwashing, cleaning...all important but not without challenges sometimes.
